I always have a hard time knowing what to write about myself, and maybe that says a lot about me, or maybe not.
I graduated from SIU-C (BA), Asbury Theological Seminary (M-Div) and George Fox University/Evangelical Seminary (D-Min). I have been an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church for 16 years. I have served in a few rural congregations, a suburb of East St. Louis and now at Marion Aldersgate. I have a wonderful wife – who I am very thankful for. We have three children: a son at Olivet Nazarene Univ., a 16 year old son who is a sophmore at Marion, and a 12 year old daughter in 6th grade.
I have been very fortunate to have met a few of the people I admire. Len Sweet was my professor/mentor for the D-Min program at George Fox Seminary. Dr. Tony Campolo did a seminar at our congregation last year. My wife and I were privileged to take them out for dinner one evening. I discovered that they are real people just like everyone else with their own set of struggles, brokenness, blessings and joys. They, like every other believer, are on a journey of faith, and I give God thanks that I got to share a few miles of the journey with them.
